Go Field Tripping is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing high-quality, richly-themed field trips and in-class presentations to schools at little or no cost, by utilizing a network of student volunteers who earn class credit by developing and presenting programs and field trips.

My name is Charles Johnson, I'm a musician, storyteller, a tour guide, an enrichment educator, and like every kid I love Field Trips.

A few years ago a friend of mine asked me to help chaperone a field trip aboard an oceanography vessel. The trip gave me the opportunity to educate and entertain kids with my love of science and sea chanteys.

I'll never forget it, it was one of the best times of my life.

In preparation for the next year I learned to play the concertina, bought myself a Gregory-Peck-as-Captain-Ahab turtle-neck sweater and learned a whole bunch of stories about the sea - but it didn't happen - schools just don't have money for field trips anymore.

That's why I started Go Field Tripping.

I want to bring field trips back to schools, but not just normal field trips - rich, themed field trips where the kids are entertained as well as educated, where the learning comes in the form of immersive adventures and where the guides join in the learning and fun right alongside the students.
I want to create field trips that students will remember for the rest of their lives.
